Theatre Arts I 0340 & 0350
This is an introductory level course that allows the student to study the various aspects of theatre performance. Emphasis is placed on the development of individual techniques utilized in theatre performance.
Theatre Arts II 0352
This is an intermediate level course that allows the student to study in depth the various aspects of theatre performance. Emphasis is placed on the development of the tools one needs to be an effective performer.
Theatre Arts III 0354
This is an advanced level course that allows the student to study in depth the various aspects of theatre performance. Emphasis is placed on the development of the individual actor and the honing of performance skills focusing toward the presentation of the final dramatic production.

FAQ’s for Theatre Arts
1. What do you do in Theatre?
Do you like to use your imagination? Play different characters? Write skits, poems, or plays? Make people laugh? Then theatre is the class for you! In Theatre Arts you will learn all about what it means to be part of an ensemble, how to speak with confidence in front of your peers, and how to express yourself on stage. You will develop scripts, characters, and even put on a play!
2. How many opportunities do I have to perform?
Each year, Tex Hill Theatre puts on four shows. A fall show, our UIL One Act Play, the Spring Musical, and the end of the year talent show! We also compete in Speech and Theatre competitions every December and April. We also have many performance opportunities in class, everyone gets a chance to shine!!
3. Is it required to perform?
In Theatre I all students participate in the class play project, it is a great opportunity to work together and see what it takes to put on a show!
4. Do I have to be a good singer/dancer?
You do not have to have any singing, dancing, or acting experience to take Theatre Arts.
5. Who can participate in shows?
Any students at Tex Hill are able to audition for any production. Always check the callboard for information!
